How to set up an accreditation exam

Prior to establishing a date for accreditation exams, you must first ensure that all candidates have successfully completed the portfolio stage or will have completed the portfolio stage on the examination date. Please note that if you establish examination dates before portfolios are successfully graded, you run the risk of not having candidates ready to take the examination.

In order to set up an accreditation exam in your area, after establishing dates that are suitable to candidates, please contact IABC world headquarters at with the following information:

  • Exam date
  • Timespan
  • Title (e.g., IABC/BC-hosted exam, Pacific Plains Regional Conference)
  • Web site link (if applicable)
  • Lead exam contact name
  • Lead exam contact e-mail address
  • Lead exam contact phone number
  • Registration deadline (date all candidates must register with you by)
  • Complete address of exam location

Your exam information will be listed on the upcoming exams calendar so that candidates outside of your area may register with you.
