Volunteering for the accreditation program is a great way to stay connected with fellow communicators, stay up-to-date on the communication trends of your peers, get new ideas and give back to the communication profession.

IABC Accreditation Volunteer Information

IABC is currently recruiting new volunteers! Here are a few ways you can get involved in accreditation:

ABC Liaison

  • ABC Liaisons are members of chapter, district and regional boards and promote accreditation in their area.  They may give workshops, organize and proctor exams, run Accreditation Completion Programs or other activities.

Accreditation Coaches

  • Accreditation coaches help accreditation candidates at any stage or throughout the accreditation process.  Coaches and candidates work together via phone and /or email.

Portfolios

  • Portfolio Grading Center Coordinator: recruit portfolio graders from among local ABC’s, guide portfolio graders, answer questions and act as the final judge in reconciling scores.
  • Portfolio Graders: work in teams of two to evaluate portfolios under the guidance of the Portfolio Grading Center Coordinator.

Exams

  • Lead Exam Proctor: organize and administer the oral and written examination to accreditation candidates and recruit Exam Proctors as necessary
  • Exam Proctor: assist the Lead Exam Proctor on examination day and judge oral exams.
  • Exam Grader: grade written exams by e-mail

To volunteer, please contact Olivia Nucum at IABC Headquarters at or +1 (415) 544-4721.  Your time is appreciated!
