Chairman’s Award
Each year, the IABC chairman honors one or more members who have, over a period of time, worked diligently behind the scenes for IABC at the international level. The Chairman's Award recognizes IABC members who have made selfless contributions to enhance the association's image, facilitate member development and benefit the communication profession. Any current IABC member who has belonged to the association for at least five years is eligible.
Although service on the IABC executive board or in other IABC leadership positions will not rule out a candidate, such service is not sufficient on its own as this award recognizes IABC leadership contributions in other ways. This award typically honors members who have demonstrated initiative, leadership and willingness to contribute to our association and the profession in ways beyond IABC leadership roles. These efforts might involve serving on committees, speaking at seminars, working with students, assisting with conferences or writing articles for professional journals, among other activities.
