The Jake Wittmer Award was established by the IABC Research Foundation, the research and development arm of IABC, to recognize outstanding worldwide research commissioned or developed by an organizational communicator. Jake Wittmer, ABC, (1919–1981) was an IABC chairman and a founder of the organization. He believed that research is inherent to the communication process.
