Gold Quill Awards: Judging
Taking Home the Gold: Notes from a Gold Quill Award winner
by Lelde McCoy, The Reputation Group, Australia
Winning a Gold Quill Award in 2008 has been an amazing journey—from sharing the news of the win with our team at The Reputation Group and our client, Sustainability Victoria, to traveling to the world’s most exciting city, New York, to personally collect the award. Even now, some months later we are still presenting our award-winning case study to interested groups back home in Australia.
It was wonderful to attend the glittering ceremony in New York City with my colleague. Emceed by international television personality and model Padma Lakshmi and featuring top class Broadway entertainment, it was a night that we will both remember for years to come.
As a boutique Australian consultancy, The Reputation Group was especially proud to know that our work was considered up there with the best of the global best, and it was an honor to attend the ceremony surrounded by so many seasoned international communication practitioners.
The ceremony gave us a chance to look at the year’s top campaigns and communication tools as well as to network with other like-minded professionals from around the world. It certainly gave us new ideas and new perspectives on developing best practice communication strategies and tactics.
Entering awards such as the Gold Quill Award means that we are continually challenged to maintain high standards in all the projects we undertake. We challenge ourselves to always push the envelope as we generate engaging campaigns for our clients. The Gold Quill Award ceremony inspired us to go back home, do fabulous work and try to win another award in 2009.
Start preparing your Gold Quill Award entry today! The early-bird deadline is 27 January 2010, and the final deadline is 3 February 2010.
