10,000 Sleeping Bags for Pakistan
Pristop d.o.o.
After a catastrophic earthquake hit North Pakistan in October 2005, The Slovenian Red Cross (SRC) faced a devastating crisis. Moreover, it was still dealing with public mistrust from a 2002 scandal. As a prompt response to the catastrophe, SRC developed a humanitarian initiative that would raise funds to provide 10,000 sleeping bags for the earthquake victims. Because public support was the key to the success of the initiative, SRC designed and implemented a strategic communication plan that would regain public trust and rebuild its reputation as a trustworthy humanitarian organization. The communication plan helped attract media attention to the earthquake and to SRC’s humanitarian efforts, raising awareness in the international community, increasing public support for the initiative and providing SRC with positive publicity.

To locate and communicate with their employees and begin full recovery work, the company quickly created and executed a unique, cross-company crisis management initiative.
