Call for Presentations

IABC invites presentation proposals from qualified experts who meet the association’s criteria for educating communicators to excel professionally and improve organizational performance.

The deadline for speaker proposals for IABC’s 2012 conferences is 15 July 2011. Please take the time to review the following requirements so that you will have the best chance of being selected.

2012 Theme

As the world begins to think beyond the global economic crisis, the 2012 Conference represents a good opportunity to look ahead to the future while tying in the basic tenets of strategic communications.

Forward Thinking: 2015 Vision

The theme is intended to provide guidance to speakers in the call for submissions – it is not necessarily locked-in wording, and should be viewed as flexible.

Having said that, we want to bring an active, future-oriented message through, and so the high-level theme focuses on forward thinking, forward looking, the future.

- Looking ahead to the important vision for the role of communicators, the profession, IABC and our organizations over the next three years

- There is also the play on 20-15 eye vision, which is better than 20-20 vision (we see at 20 feet what others see at 15, so we're ahead of the curve, we see further, we're able to anticipate what's coming rather than just reacting to it).

For key messages overall we seek, for example: proactivity, looking ahead, agility, flexibility, innovation, strategic, adding value, visionary, revolutionary people-led change, responsible communication, bravery, boldness.

We want presenters at the 2012 IABC World Conference, in Chicago from June 25 through 27, to actively address, incorporate and spark debate about this theme and messages.
