Managed Change E-lesson

The e-Lesson for Change Agents is designed to build an understanding of the change process and examine the factors critical to successful implementation of change projects. Participants who successfully complete this program will have gained a solid, working knowledge of the concepts and challenges of managing change. Because the course is Internet-based, subscribers have access to the course 24X 7.

Instructor / Jeanenne LaMarsh

In 1979 Jeanenne LaMarsh founded LaMarsh & Associates, Inc. to be a firm that helps its clients proactively recognize and address the human factors that can either accelerate or impede change. Jeanenne is internationally recognized as an expert and thought leader in helping companies to prepare for and implement successful change.

In addition to leading LaMarsh & Associates on a daily basis, Jeanenne provides consultative and advisory services for our clients. She typically works with senior management, key change agents, and people who need to lead and execute change in a timely fashion, helping each group better understand the dynamics and challenges of the change process and build effective change management strategies and action plans.

Course Outline

Module 1 – Managed Change™

  • Understand the cost and the pain of not managing change effectively
  • Define change management for your organization

Week 2 (20-24 February)
M Module 2 – Analyzing the Stages of Change

  • Know where you want to take the project and why
  • Define the Current, Desired and Delta States

Week 3 (27 February to 2 March)
Module 3 – Prepare to Change

  • Identify and assess the key roles within the organization relative to the change initiative
  • Determine the degree of risk and cost associated with the potential organizational resistance to the change

Week 4 (5-10 March)
Module 4 – Plan the Change

  • Design Communication and Learning Systems that help decrease resistance to the change
  • Create Reward Systems that will encourage positive, productive behaviors

Week 5 (12-16 March)
Module 5 - Implement the Change

  • Identify structures involved in the Managed Change™ process
  • Learn strategies to integrate the change management action plans into the overall Implementation Plan

Week 6 (19-23 March)
Module 6- Sustain the Change

  • Prepare for sustaining the new Current State

Change Communication Facilitated Module

CHANGE COMMUNICATION Face-to-Face session

Upon completion of the Managed Change e-lesson participants will attend a one-day facilitated workshop focusing specifically on the tools and techniques of change communication and call upon the experience and expertise of the participants to apply those learning to their own situations.

An eight hour facilitated face-to-face interactive workshopused to build on the learning that occurred as a result of the Managed Change e-lesson, the participants will drill deep into the tools to create a Change Communication Plan for a specific change in their organization. This hands-on session will provide a set of comprehensive tools to create a Change Communication Plan that meets the needs of the people impacted by a challenging change.
