Conference Session: AS.11
AS.11 / Blogging for business: The communicator’s role
Date: Wednesday, 25 June
Time: 8 - 9:15 a.m.
Track: Strategy & Counsel
As organizations try to figure out how—and if—they should start blogging, their communicators are already splashing around in the blogging waters. Even if your company is not ready to start blogging as an organization, that doesn’t mean you can’t start using blogs to advance your strategic communication agenda.
This practical session will show you how to:
- Identify, encourage and coach potential executive bloggers in your organization and sell blogging to management as a business tool, rather than a “communication” tool
- Determine which topics are “blog friendly” and which topics could get you in trouble
- Start an editor’s blog to encourage dialogue throughout the organization, create a group blog and take your blogging program to the next level—adding podcasts and video
