This think tank asks: what does the future hold for corporate communication, public relations, and organizational communications? Students and professionals interested in shaping the future of their profession are welcome to attend. Attendees will have the chance to:

  • network with other communicators with similar concerns
  • contribute to IABC's future agenda for research and programming
  • hear new insights and ideas
  • be part of a group that dares to dream about tomorrow

The IABC Research Foundation uses think tank events as live research instruments to solve problems and identify issues worthy of further research. Outcomes of this event may shape the direction of the region, career development, corporate communications, and foundation research.

Tamara Gillis, Ed.D., ABC, is an associate professor of communications at Elizabethtown College and a communications consultant with Cooper Wright LLC of Falls Church, Virginia. Dr. Gillis led the IABC Research Foundation think tank in 1999-2000 and served as a member of the Foundation’s think tanks in 2002 and 2003. Dr. Gillis was the first educator to serve as the chairman of the IABC Research Foundation (2001-02). She is the editor of “The IABC Handbook of Organizational Communication” (Jossey-Bass, 2006) and author of “The Human Element” (IABC Knowledge Centre, 2008).
