Student Mentoring Program
The IABC Student Mentoring program is a new initiative to pair up IABC student members with professional members in the field. The mentor will be available as a source for questions about the industry, as a knowledgeable resource about the profession and a great contact to get you networked into a metropolitan area of specific interest.
So start building your communication network; sign up for an IABC mentor!
"My mentor is Bob Vivian, a former college professor from my alma mater, California State University, Chico, and a long time IABC member. Not only was he my faculty advisor, but he was the advisor of the student chapter of IABC. Bob helped me land my very first internship, coached me on public relations strategy & tactics and challenged me to always strive to be the best that I could be. To this day, I still keep in contact with him. Although he has since retired and just recently purchased email service for his home (he didn't want to give up his trusty typewriter), he is a true friend and colleague.”

"After spending a long career in communications, I really believe that taking the time and investing the energy to help others in the profession is critical and rewarding. In my case, that takes the form of consistent mentoring of some colleagues, facilitating job shadows and making myself available for informational interviews."
