The international executive board, or IEB, is the governing body of IABC and is accountable to its members. The IEB shall have supervision, control, and direction of the affairs of the association; actively pursue the association’s purpose; determine its policy within the limits of the law, Bylaws, and Articles of Incorporation; uphold the IABC Code of Ethics for Professional Communicators; and supervise disbursement of funds. The IEB develops the strategic plan and direction for the association under the guidance of the Association Bylaws approved by the IABC membership. The IEB serves as the Board of Trustees for the IABC Foundation.

 

EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS

BBonnie Caveronnie Caver – Chair | Bonnie Caver is the president and founder of Reputation Lighthouse, a branding and reputation marketing firm with offices in Denver and Austin. The firm focuses on leading companies to create, accelerate, and protect their brands. A 20-year communication veteran, Caver is a certified crisis manager from the Institute of Crisis Management and is one of few in the world to hold an advanced certification for reputation through the Reputation Institute. Caver is a past member of the IABC Finance Committee, is a past chair of the IABC Southern Region, and was a member of the Brand Task Force. Caver enjoys the role of mentor for young professionals and is a frequent speaker on branding, reputation, and thought leadership topics.

Victoria DewVictoria Dew, SCMP – Immediate Past Chair | Victoria Dew, SCMP, is the founder and CEO of Dewpoint Communications, a consultancy focused on helping businesses to grow smarter and faster  through strong company culture and employee communication. Dew has 13+ years of corporate communication leadership experience, in more than a dozen industries and sectors, both in the US and overseas. As a consultant, coach, and in-house practitioner, she has worked with diverse businesses, ranging from solopreneurs to some of the world’s largest technology companies. An IABC members since 2006, Dew has served as president of IABC Wellington, chair of the Asia-Pacific region, as well as on the IABC Finance Committee, Boston and Heritage region boards. She holds a B.A. from Skidmore College, an M.A. from King’s College London, and additional business and communication qualifications from Massey University and Victoria University of Wellington.

Danielle Bond, SCMPVice Chair| Danielle Bond is the CMO of global engineering and infrastructure advisory firm Aurecon where she leads Brand, marketing and communication strategy. Prior to joining Aurecon in 2009, Bond led the marketing team at Ernst & Young in Oceania and several Australian law firms, including Corrs Chambers Westgarth. Brand strategy is a passion, and a strength. In all her roles she has worked closely with people and client leadership to differentiate and align the brand promise between employees and clients. She is a highly collaborative and creative leader and is passionate about people, innovation and workplaces of the future.

Maliha Aqeel, PMP, SCMP – Treasurer & Secretary| Maliha Aqeel is an award-winning senior communicator. She’s an assistant director in EY’s Canadian Brand, Marketing and Communications group and a past president of IABC/Toronto. Previously, she spent several years in agency in Dubai, UAE, specializing in financial communication. After moving to Canada, she switched to client side and headed communication for the Institute of Corporate Directors. Her accomplishments include developing a new ICD brand and revamping ICD’s Director Journal magazinewhich won Gold Quill and Silver Leaf awards. She also led EY’s Tax Canada Bot-a-thon campaign, recipient of the Gold Quill Best of the Best award in employee engagement.

Ann-Marie Blake, Chart.PR, MCIPR | Ann-Marie Blake, Chart.PR, MCIPR, is a senior communication interim specializing in helping organizations going through major transformational change. As the global communications and engagement lead for digital business banking with HSBC Commercial Banking, Blake is responsible for raising awareness and driving adoption of digital products and solutions across HSBC international markets. Prior to her current position, she held several senior-level posts with Barclays International. As a leader, Blake has managed teams in Europe (U.K., Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium), Asia, and the U.S. She has a reputation for being an inspiring leader, building relationships at all levels and impressing senior stakeholders with her focus on delivery and execution. Blake currently serves on the executive board of the IABC U.K. chapter and as the chair of the Blue Ribbon Panel for the IABC Gold Quill Awards, as well as an evaluator.

Deb HilemanDeborah Hileman, SCMP – Director | Deb Hileman, SCMP, is a business leader and certified strategic communication management professional (SCMP) with more than 30 years’ experience in public and private companies and non-profit organizations. Hileman has led high-performing communication teams in health care, manufacturing, insurance and financial services and higher education, among others. Known as a voice of calm in the midst of chaos, Hileman has earned a reputation as a trusted strategist and advisor to C-suite executives, operations and other organizational stakeholders.  An IABC member since 1992, she has previously served as a chapter president and regional director-at-large, among other roles. She is the 2017-18 chair of the Global Communication Certification Council.

Alain Legault, MA – Director | Alain Legault, MA, is the director of internal communications and public relations at the Société de transport de Montréal and has been working for over 20 years in strategic positions with major trade union, city administration and public organizations. The recipient of the IABC Chair’s Award in 2019, Legault has a strong history of leadership and engagement in IABC, most recently as the chair of the IABC 50th Anniversary Task Force. On the chapter and region level, he has served on both the Montreal chapter and Canada East Region boards.  A graduate of McGill University in political science and history, Legault also hold a master’s degree in communication from UQAM.

Julie Ludwig, ABC, SCMP – Director | A business communicator more than 18 years of experience producing and implementing successful marketing and public relations strategies in the accounting, legal, architecture, engineering and construction industries, Julie Ludwig, ABC, SCMP, is an experienced writer on marketing communication, legal, forensic accounting and technology topics. She currently serves as the senior marketing manager for Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, a leading advisory and accounting firm.  Ludwig’s past work experience includes her work as the global communications manager for RGL Forensics and senior account executive and operations consultant with meme, inc. in Denver, Colorado.  Ludwig first joined IABC in May 2006 and has since served the association in many leadership roles at the chapter and region level, including president of the Colorado chapter and chair of the Southern Region. At the international level, she most recently served on the IABC finance committee.

Katie MacaulayDirector | With over 30 years’ experience in communication, Katie Macaulay is the owner and managing director of AB, the U.K.’s longest established internal communication agency, based in central London. Her specialty is helping organisations through change and transformation. Prior to her tenure at AB, Macaulay worked as a consultant, as well as in-house for Barclays, PWC and the London Stock Exchange. A regular speaker and presenter, she has spoken at two IABC World Conferences and at the Institute of Internal Communication and Chartered Institute of Public Relations. She also hosts a popular podcast in the U.K.—The Internal Comms Podcast—where she interviews business leaders and senior communication professionals to shine a light on new thinking in employee communication.

Derrick Rozdeba | Derrick Rozdeba is the vice president of communication and public & government affairs at Bayer Inc. in Canada. Previous to this role, he was head of integrated communication at Bayer CropScience Inc. Rozdeba is a senior communication expert with over thirty years of experience in both the client and agency-side of petroleum, airline, telecommunications, automotive and life science industries. Rozdeba has served on a number of boards and committees such as the global Youth Ag-Summit (architect), Canadian 4-H Council, Outstanding Young Farmers of Canada, Alberta Ballet, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Calgary’s Science Centre, and Commanderie de Bordeaux á Calgary. He is also a passionate blogger on the topic of branding.

Matthew TidwellMatthew Tidwell, Ph.D., APR | Matt Tidwell, Ph. D., APR, is on the faculty of the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas and directs KU’s master’s degree in integrated marketing communications. Previously, Matt helped lead communications agencies and served as senior communications director for companies including Great Plains Energy and Sanofi- Aventis Pharmaceuticals. Education and professional development are now his passion and he has been a frequent speaker locally and nationally. In addition to teaching, he conducts academic research in crisis communications and has been published in Journal of Professional Communications and IABC’s Communications World. He has a master’s in communications management from Syracuse University and a Ph.D. from KU.

Jonathan Tremblay, CMPDirector | Living in Regina, Saskatchewan, Jonathan Tremblay is director of communication in the Government of Saskatchewan, where he has worked as a public servant for a decade. In addition to his work as a communication leader, Tremblay is a former journalist, having written or spoken on a variety of subjects for Le Soleil newspaper out of his native Quebec City, as well as for the History News Network, Radio Canada and Canadian Sailings Magazine. Tremblay served as chair of IABC’s Canada West Region (2017–2020), and president of IABC Regina (2014–2017). He also chaired the Advisory Council of the Royal Roads University School of Communication and Culture (2017–2020). Tremblay is a proud graduate of Laval University and Royal Roads University and has been a certified Communication Management Professional (CMP) since 2016. Championing the communications profession and the value we add to business is his passion.
