The IABC Fellows Committee is now seeking nominations for the 2018 class of Fellows. The IABC Fellow designation is awarded each year to individuals who are recognized by their peers as outstanding leaders in the profession. Do you know someone who fits the description of a Fellow?
What is an IABC Fellow?
The designation is considered a professional lifetime achievement award. It is given to recognize IABC members who have continually made an outstanding contribution to the communication profession, through exemplary achievement within their own organization and through unselfish service to IABC and its members.
IABC Fellow criteria
IABC Fellow selection criteria is based on the following:
- Contribution to, and leadership in, organizational communication
- Career achievement
- Authorship, speaking and lecturing.
- Contributions to the IABC
How to nominate
To nominate a peer for the 2018 Fellow Award, you will be asked questions relating to the selection criteria listed above, and you will need to provide the following:
- Your personal letter of recommendation
- Nominee’s current resume or curriculum vitae*
- Nominee’s personal statement (1000-word limit)**
- Values survey provided to 3-5 contacts
- Additional documentation to support nomination, maximum of 25 pages (Optional, not required)
For further information on the submission process, questions to expect and timeline – please refer to the Fellows Briefing Packet.
*You will be asked to upload these items at the time of submission using the online nomination form.
**In order to include input from the nominee, we require a personal statement written by them. This will help the Fellows Committee members get a sense of the individual ‘in their own words’. The statement should reflect the area covered in the nomination form (career, IABC roles, etc.) and other information considered relevant by the nominee. We strongly recommend the nominee consult the IABC Shared Values and Brand Personality, as this will be used by the Fellows Committee as a basis for evaluation of the statement.
Nominate someone using our online nomination form today.
Deadline: Friday, 8 December by 5pm EST.
Submissions for the IABC Fellow Award are not carried over year after year. Individuals need to submit a new nomination package for the current year.
Present executive board members and any person who has served as chair of IABC during the past three years are not eligible.
Through 2016, Fellows were granted lifetime membership in IABC. However, those who receive the Fellows Award thereafter will be required to pay international, region, and chapter dues.
