Join an international IABC committee

Take an active role in your IABC membership and take advantage of this opportunity to showcase your leadership skills. By participating in IABC international committees, you’re participating in projects that fit your interest and expertise while giving back to the communication field.

IABC currently has vacancies across 11 committees/task forces and the IABC Nominating Committee is seeking volunteer leaders to serve on the following international committees:

  • Academy
  • Awards
  • Editorial
  • Ethics
  • Fellows
  • Foundation Fundraising Committee*
  • Foundation Grant Selection Task Force*
  • Foundation Research Grant Evaluation Task Force*
  • Investment
  • Program Advisory Committee
  • Global Communication Certification Council

*New committees/task forces

You may apply for more than one committee. Please note IABC’s Conflict of Interest policy which limits active committee members’ ability to undertake paid work with the association.

Help shape the future of the profession. Learn about emerging ideas, trends and opportunities in the field. Meet and work with some of the best minds (and nicest people) in the communication industry. Whether you have a lot of time, or a more limited amount of time to commit, there’s an opportunity for you.

To apply, fill out the application form(s) linked below for the committees/task forces you’d like to serve on by Tuesday, 20 March 2018. Be ready to upload your resume or curriculum vitae and two references when submitting form(s).

We encourage you to read through the Committees Candidate Briefing for further information about the roles of the committees and vacancies available.

Reach out to Governance and Foundation Manager Kirsten Peterson at with any questions.

I served on the IABC Africa Region Board previously and enjoyed the experience immensely. Having completed my MA and PhD in Communication Studies which took up most of my time, I would like to get involved with the IABC once again. Serving on a committee would be a great way to start and hopefully become more involved in the future.
