Rebuilding Struggling Chapters
Is your local chapter struggling? Suffering from lack of engagement? Losing members? Experiencing turmoil on the Board?
There is hope.
Hear from two chapter leaders who’ve been there: Jo Ann Johnston, President of IABC London and Claudia Miller, Past-President of IABC Orange County and a current Chapter Advocate for the IABC Pacific Plains Region. Learn how they rose to the challenge, overcame obstacles, turned their chapters around and reaped the rewards from their success.
In this session you will:
- Hear how two chapters did it – case studies from IABC London and IABC Orange County
- Get tips, tricks and best practices to take the first steps to rebuilding your chapter
- Ask questions and get support
Claudia Miller is currently a Chapter Advocate for the IABC Pacific Plains Region and a two-time past President of IABC/OC (1996 and 2011). In 2011, Claudia led a formerly flagging Orange County chapter to being awarded:
- Mid-size Chapter of the Year
- Award of Excellence for Membership Marketing
- Award of Merit for Professional Development
- Award of Merit for Community Involvement
In addition to her responsibilities as Chapter Advocate, Claudia puts her knowledge and effort toward advising the somewhat dormant IABC Los Angeles board on strategies and methods for reviving the chapter. She also founded the IABC/OC IndyComm subgroup, designed for independent communication consultants.
