The list below is not exhaustive. New resources to help you and your chapter/region/committee through the diversity, equity, equality, inclusion and accessiblity journey continue to be available. This list can get you started learning more about this important initiative.

Resources on Accessibility

  • Accessible Social: A fantastic resource on how to make your social media content accessible.
  • Adobe Color Blind Check: Allows you to check a palette of colors and offers a colorblind simulator for the entire palette for the three most common types of color blindness
  • Adobe Contrast Check: This site allows you to check color contrast, WCAG compliance (AODA looks for 4.5:1 or AA compliance) and explains why the combinations work or are a miss.
  • AMI Integrated Described Best Practices: Provides seamless description throughout a video, ensuring that people of all abilities receive a similar viewing experience by incorporating descriptions into the main script. There is no requirement for an additional audio description layer.
  • AMI Post-Production Described Best Practices: When creating video content, these best practices can help you create accessible videos by adding described audio after production is complete.
  • PDF Accessibility Checker 2021: (PAC 2021): This is the industry standard when checking the accessibility of your PDF documents. It is a free download but is only available for Windows users.
  • WebAIM Contrast Checker: This site allows you to check color contrast and WCAG compliance (AODA looks for 4.5:1 or AA compliance) and explains why the combinations work or are a miss.
  • Who Can Use: This is an excellent website for checking color contrast and WCAG compliance and seeing how people with different color blindness see the same color combinations.
