IABC Master Class: The Art and Behavioural Science of Persuasion and Influence

IABC Master Class: The Art and Behavioural Science of Persuasion and Influence

5 - 19 November | 2:00 PM
Virtual

This engaging and practical master class will empower communication professionals to elevate their influence and impact through the science of persuasion. Across three dynamic sessions, participants will explore how to cut through the noise of today’s complex information landscape, apply behavioural insights to better understand and reach their audiences, and use proven tools to confidently influence stakeholders and decision-makers.

The program blends critical thinking, behavioural science, and modern engagement strategies to help participants navigate an era of information overload, polarisation, and AI-generated content. Participants will leave with a toolkit of practical techniques to identify bias, reframe issues for support, select the right channels, and confidently pitch ideas that stick.

Ideal for professionals seeking to strengthen their strategic communication skills, this master class will equip you to ask better questions, make smarter decisions, and drive meaningful change — whether you're engaging the public, stakeholders, or internal leaders.

Anne Wickham
Anne Wickham Managing Director, Boxing Clever

Anne Wickham is a stakeholder engagement and communication strategist from Sydney, Australia, who has run her own agencies for 25 years and advised more than 100 businesses and organisations. This has included dozens of projects for Australian Government agencies spanning nationwide stakeholder engagement and communication strategies and plans, communication audits, campaigns and content.

Meanwhile, her work with listed and large companies and not-for-profits has supported financial transactions, transformations, issues management, proactive PR, executive training and narrative and messaging development.

Anne’s work is grounded in critical thinking, behavioural economics and keeping abreast of best practice approaches which led her to Yale University for a Rethinking Marketing and Insights: Behavioural Economics Immersion. Putting those learnings into practice has been a game-changer for clients and resulted in two IABC Gold Quill Awards in 2023 and 2024.
