Only Group and Corporate memberships can be transferred to another person within a company. However, the following criteria must be met:

• The original member must have at least three months left on the membership and the membership must be a group or corporate membership, not a 500 Club, student, retired, or other type of lifetime membership.
• The original member is no longer with the company.
• The employer sends a formal email request to member_relations@iabc.com to transfer the membership.

Please include current information of the new member, including name, title, phone number, email and mailing address, and the name and member ID of the original member.

Dues vary based on your chapter and country. See our chapter dues for details. If you live in an area not represented on the dues chart, please email member_relations@iabc.com with your location and request a dues quote.

*Exceptions are group memberships, corporate memberships, and sustaining memberships.

The majority of IABC Memberships are active for one year. IABC is currently transitioning to an annual dues cycle, so some memberships may be prorated. Beginning 1 January 2025, all annual memberships will be active through 31 December of the current year. Please email member_relations@iabc.com if you have questions regarding your membership expiration date. 

IABC accepts payment in U.S. dollars, Canadian dollars and Australian dollars. To change your currency, select the appropriate country in the top banner. United States (USD) is the default currency for IABC. 

The easiest way is to login to your IABC Profile and click Account. Fill in the appropriate fields with the new information, and be sure to click “save” at the bottom of the screen. You cannot change your name (e.g. if you get married) online. Please email us at member_relations@iabc.com to change your name or chapter.

If you received an error message, please forward it in its entirety by email to member_relations@iabc.com, explaining the challenge you have encountered. We will get back to you to help find resolution or help complete your transaction by phone to help take care of it as quickly as possible.

IABC bylaws prohibit refunding dues for any reason when a membership terminates during the membership period. This applies to completing all quarterly payments if this option was chosen.

You are welcome to join as a member-at-large. When you join IABC, you will be shown a list of chapters and their dues so you can choose the best fit for your membership needs. Your chapter is an amazing part of your membership.

If you do not see your chapter when joining or renewing, please check the currency in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. The chapters shown will only be ones offered in that currency.

Groups with five or more individuals on their roster benefit from 15% discount on international dues. Chapter dues remain the same no matter the membership type and can be found one our chapter dues.

In December of 2021, we reached out to our 500 Club members with an update that chapter dues would now be charged to all 500 club members. Don’t have chapter dues? We still ask that you renew each year so that we are able to stay up to date on your recent contact information. There is no fee charged during the renewal process if you do not have a chapter.
