The Framework

The IABC Foundation is focused on driving IABC’s mission to drive communication as a force for good in business and society. This is done through the following pillars:

  • Gift of Communication: Providing the tools and funding for chapters to give back to their local communities.
  • Gift of Experience: Investing in experience-gaining activities for the next generation and those in transition through various channels which may include scholarships, internships, mentoring and more.
  • Gift of Excellence: Supporting certification of professional communicators around the world
  • Gift of Insights: Providing grants for targeted research that results in case studies, white papers or other publications supporting member needs and IABC thought leadership

The four pillars offer members an opportunity to connect, financially support and get involved with a cause they care about. All four pillars support the profession and the development of future practitioners. They also provide the Foundation with an opportunity to run campaigns to drive the critical mass of support needed for IABC’s initiatives to be financially viable and sustainable.

Gift of Excellence Grant

We Wish Our Gift of Excellence Grant Recipients Much Success!

The IABC Foundation Trustees awarded five applicants Gift of Excellence grant funding. The funding will allow the award recipients to seek certification for a CMP or SCMP through the Global Communication Certification Council (GCCC). The grant will cover the costs of the application fee, the exam fee and one-year renewal fee which amounts to US $490 for each person.

The Foundation was particularly interested in helping to expand the availability of certification where currency discrepancies or developing economies may make it financially difficult for members to take part. IABC members living and working in areas designated as developing nations by the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, as well as those living in areas significantly impacted by a natural disaster, will receive the highest priority in the disbursement of Gift of Excellence grant funds. And all applicants demonstrating financial need were considered.

The five Gift of Excellence grant recipients are:

  1. Narghiza Alikulova from Tashkent, Uzbekistan
  2. Wisdom Chapp-Jumbo from Lagos, Nigeria
  3. Chisimchere Chukwu from Ikoyi, Nigeria
  4. Damilola Kadiri from Abuja, Nigeria
  5. Joyce Kyeyune from Kampala, Uganda

We wish these IABC members much success in their journey to achieve certification. Congratulations!

So how do you really feel? report with the Centre for Strategic Communication Excellence

In the Centre for Strategic Communication Excellence (CSCE) So how do you really feel? global wellbeing study, two thirds of respondents said their mental wellbeing has declined since the beginning of the pandemic. The survey was completed by almost 800 communication and public relations professionals from 40 different countries. Sia Papageorgiou FRSA, SCMP, Managing Director at the CSCE explained the survey aimed to provide insight into how communication and public relations professionals are feeling about their mental wellbeing – to identify the barriers to improving it and gain insights that employers, leaders, and our profession’s associations can use to help ease the pressure.
