IABC Healthcare SIG: The Battle for Truth: How Misinformation Shapes Health Communications

IABC Healthcare SIG: The Battle for Truth: How Misinformation Shapes Health Communications

2 - December | 4:00 PM
Virtual

Misinformation isn’t just a buzzword — it’s reshaping how people understand health. Together, we’ll unpack findings from a Canadian Medical Association (CMA) study of 3,700 Canadians that explores how people access news, who they trust, and growing concerns about the deepening impact of misinformation on public health.

Sophie Nadeau, who leads a CMA team dedicated to supporting and amplifying trusted health system information, will share insights from her front-line experience in this “battle for truth.” She’ll also introduce Healthcare For Real — a national initiative helping Canadians cut through the noise and navigate the health care system with clarity and confidence.

This session isn’t just about listening, it’s about connecting and collaborating. Bring your own experiences, challenges, and wins as we explore how health communicators can be a force for credible, impactful storytelling in an uncertain media landscape.

Why join?

• Get exclusive insights from new national research.

• Learn practical strategies to counter health misinformation.

• Exchange ideas with fellow leaders and communicators in health.

• Build your network in a supportive, solutions-focused space.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a conversation that matters.
