CHICAGO, 1 June 2022 — The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) is supporting the Media Development Foundation of Ukraine, joining its fight against the disinformation campaign perpetrated by the Russian government.
IABC will be holding a special event, the Gift of Communication Idea Exchange, during its upcoming World Conference, being held from 26-29 June at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, New York City.
Participants will meet on 29 June at 9:00 am (EST) at the conference registration desk where they will be paired with an industry peer for 90 minutes to learn, develop skills and network – all for an important cause. The registration cost is $20 per person and all proceeds will go to the Media Development Foundation.
“IABC will always stand with those battling disinformation,” said Zora Artis, GAICD, SCMP, FAMI, CPM and chair of IABC’s Program Advisory Committee. “This is an ethical and global issue, and communication professionals are engaged in the fight, at home and in support of Ukraine.”
The Gift of Communication is a pillar of the IABC Foundation, encouraging members and chapters to give back to their communities by utilizing their professional skills and expertise. This year’s Idea Exchange, and the contribution to the Media Development Foundation of Ukraine, recognizes the serious threat to open and accurate information posed by the invasion of Ukraine.
IABC is setting the global standard for communication professionals. A diverse, international association connecting communication professionals with the people and insights necessary to drive results, IABC brings together the profession’s collective disciplines. IABC programming, delivered locally and globally through chapters and regions, includes certification and awards to provide communications benchmarks for business executives. Focused on the Global Standard (ethics, consistency, context, analysis, strategy and engagement), IABC helps guide careers and advance the profession.
