Go beyond the ordinary and plunge into the invaluable opportunities waiting within these communities.
Heads of Communication
If you lead a communications team, you probably face a relentless rise in expectations and chronic challenges of staying grounded when the ground keeps shifting. To support you in navigating your unique set of challenges, IABC is introducing a new Special Interest Group (SIG) designed specifically for heads of communications. By joining this SIG, you can connect and collaborate with senior members of IABC who share similar experiences; gain insights from peers and leading guest speakers hand-picked to address your challenges; and get the latest on industry trends from a global perspective.
With the ever-changing healthcare sector, there has never been a better time to connect with colleagues tackling similar challenges. This shared interested group will host opportunities to network, educational sessions, and be a trustworthy source for tips, strategies, and best practices.
IABC’s Student and Early Career Professional Shared Interest Group provides opportunities, resources and support to college students and early professionals with the goal of enhancing career readiness and instilling a life-long passion for the field. This initiative takes inspiration and action from its members who assume volunteer leadership roles to facilitate networking, produce programs, promote volunteerism and provide access to experienced professionals.
Connect with colleagues that instinctively understand communications within academic environment. Complex stakeholder engagement, enhancing the reputation of your organization, sharing compelling, vulnerable stories in a transparent and authentic way. This shared interest group will host opportunities to network, participate in educational sessions, and be a trustworthy source for tips, strategies, and best practices.
Change Management is a constant, requiring fluid adjustments from leadership and the brands. The pandemic has only accelerated this need. Communication professionals must be change leaders and that is what this Shared Interest Group is all about. We will keep an eye on the future while tackling the challenges of the latest next normal, focusing on sharing best practices around strategy, alignment, communication flow, business practice, technology, and behavior change. Ultimately, our goal will be to support communications professionals as we lead change within our organizations and our client organizations.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
The business case for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) is well established. Data collected by global management consulting firms and other employment authorities clearly show that companies with diverse workforces, inclusive business practices and equitable policies outperform those that do not prioritize DEI and embed its principles into their culture. For business communicators and leaders responsible for promoting DEIB within their organizations and contributing to a healthy, inclusive workplace culture, this Shared Interest Group welcomes you! We are building an IABC community of professionals who are learning together how to apply DEIB authentically for the greatest impact in our workplace in our world. Join us!
Uniquely constructed to serve the needs of IABC’s consulting members, this shared interested group creates a place for consultants to develop business connections and alliances that will advance the careers of participants. And don’t forget the value that joint endeavor will bring to our clients. We operate in a safe and confidential space, and this group will serve as a trusted source for ideas and answers to participants’ pertinent questions (and any worries) in real-time. With the caliber of IABC’s global community, responses and conversations will be thoughtful, wide-ranging and inevitably supportive.
